Junior high school marching bands battle it out on the street to prove which band has what it takes to be the best.

West Java Junior High School Marching Band competition is a major marching band competition with all over Junior High in West Java bands competing.

Gedung Merdeka (the Independence Building)
Today is the day, August 17, 2006 we are celebrating Indonesia independence day. And this is Gedung Merdeka (the independence building) was built by Dutch Architects Van Galenlst and C.O. Wolf Schoemacher. Located at Asia Afrika Street 65 Bandung. This building was used as headquarter of freedom fighter. In 1955, this building was famous as the first Asian-African conference. Now it is a museum for that conference.

My wife was took this railroad bridge from inside car on Cipularang Highway. I’m not sure what it is name. According to Wikipedia, in 1880 (Dutch Collonial) the first major railroad between Batavia and Bandung was laid down. Maybe this bridge was made around that year (1880).

House, Office, school, shop and others building fly the Indonesian flag for a set period of time before and after the holiday. Decorated with banner and light in red and white. Like this building.

Dago Street (Jalan Dago) is another famous street in Bandung. Every Saturday night, along this Street we can see people hang out, music, café, mobile radio station, and flower seller spill all over the sidewalk and make traffic jam -of course-. But we love it, because it’s only happen on Saturday night (weekend) and at the week day back to normal.

Most radio station in Bandung has their mobile station. They can report the event live from location. Usually at the weekend this car parking on Dago (Ir. H. Juanda) Street, Gasibu square (Gedung Sate) and various mall.

Every radio decorates their mobile station with several of kinds. For example Ardan Radio makes their mobile station look like American truck? Ardan Crusher is its name.

This three wheel vehicle is merging motorcycle and wagon, can carry small luggage with minimal cost. I often meet this vehicle on PHH Mustopa Street, with it three wheels very frightening me when it makes a turn. People call this vehicle “Triseda’ taken from its brand name.

Because of Gedung Sate have a pole on its roof look like a satay*) then people call this building as Gedung Sate.
