Chummy Mummy SyndromeSometime being a parent is not only as a “parent” be our daughter’s friend I think is great. Hanging out together, shopping, watching movies and chit-chat about everything can make we are close to them.

In the other point of view, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg said: “Most normal kids have friends of the same age, which is vital for normal development. A mother's role is different - it is to impart the family's values, monitor, supervise and set limits and boundaries. When a Mum is a teen's best friend, the teen may expect a life without these limits”

I personally think that it should be balanced - you have to be close to your kids but at the same time maintaining the parent-child-line. It's the balance to be struck, I should say.
